Rates checked in September 2026. Under its single-fee structure, Airbnb charges most hosts 15.5%; Airbnb says other hosts typically pay between 14% and 16%. Exceptions depend on country and account type. Booking.com sets the commission rate in each accommodation agreement, and visibility programmes may increase it. This worked example uses a possible range of 15% to 25%. If Booking.com facilitates payment, the applicable payment terms and transaction cost are contract-specific. Our 6.9% cost contribution is included in the displayed total and contributes towards Stripe payment fees and refunds. Nothing is added at checkout and nothing is deducted from the owner. Fee models can change, so please check each platform’s current terms. Sources: Airbnb Help Center and Booking.com General Delivery Terms.

Popular places to stay in St. Lucia

Saint Lucia is one of the greener, more dramatic islands of the eastern Caribbean, an independent nation shaped by volcanic peaks, rainforest and a deeply indented coastline. Its signature image is the Pitons, two forested spires that climb almost vertically from the water near the old French town of Soufriere, itself set against a caldera of hot springs and mineral baths. The landscape lends the island a distinct character: this is a place of hiking trails, waterfalls and sailing anchorages as much as beaches. The north around Rodney Bay and Gros Islet is the busier, more developed end, with marinas, restaurants and nightlife, while the southwest around Soufriere feels more intimate and scenic. Marigot Bay, a sheltered natural harbour tucked into the hills, has long been a favourite of yachts. Culturally the island carries both French and British influences alongside a strong Creole identity, heard in the food, music and local Kweyol language. Most visitors arrive by air into the island's airports and travel onward by road, taxi or water taxi. It rewards travellers who want scenery and activity, not just a sun lounger, though quiet coves for exactly that are never far away.

Vacation rentals in St. Lucia: FAQ

Book vacation apartments and holiday homes safely with BookNoFees ↗
How do I get to Saint Lucia?

The island has airports in the north and south, and most international visitors arrive by air before continuing by road. Journeys between the north and the Soufriere area take time because of the winding, hilly coast, so many travellers use taxis, private transfers or water taxis. Check current routes and transfer times with your host, as the drive across the island can be longer than the distance suggests.

When is the best time to visit?

Saint Lucia has a drier season and a wetter, warmer season, and conditions can vary across the island because of its mountains. The drier months are generally the most settled for beaches and hiking, while the greener season brings occasional heavier rain. Ask your host what to expect for your dates, especially if you plan to hike the Pitons or spend time on the water.

Should I stay in the north or near Soufriere?

The north around Rodney Bay and Gros Islet is livelier, with more restaurants, marinas and nightlife. Soufriere and the southwest are quieter and more scenic, right beneath the Pitons and close to the hot springs and rainforest.

What is there to do beyond the beach?

Saint Lucia is known for hiking, including trails around the Pitons, plus waterfalls, mineral baths, botanical gardens and sailing from sheltered bays like Marigot. There is diving and snorkelling along the reefs near Soufriere too. Local guides and operators run most activities, and your host can usually point you to reputable ones and help with timing.

Why book my Saint Lucia stay through BookNoFees?

BookNoFees deducts no commission from the amount set by the host. The displayed total includes a 6.9% guest fee on the host price, covering payment processing, refund handling and payment risks. Nothing is added at checkout.

Can I sort out transfers and activities with the host directly?

Yes. Given how long island transfers can take here, that direct contact is genuinely useful for planning arrival day and getting between the north and the southwest.
