Restaurant Moosalp

Restaurant Moosalp stands above Törbel at an elevation of 2,048 meters, combining a mountain destination with a family story that began in 1964. Amadé Kalbermatten and his son Jeremy carry the restaurant into its third generation, while Priscilla shapes its visual identity, including the menus and logo. The building's distinctive sloping roof reflects the shape of an alpine hut opposite, a feature required when the original building received permission. The cooking brings local products into dishes that range from traditional cheese preparations to more contemporary combinations. Raclette is scraped from cheese heated over a wood fire and served with potatoes, small onions and pickles. Another version pairs Valais dried apricots with Johannisberg wine, white balsamic vinegar and curry. The Moosalp rösti combines bacon, figs and melted cheese. Vegetarian choices include cauliflower with tahini, pomegranate, almonds and dukkah, a sweet potato ragout with naan, and a chickpea and beet burger. The menu also includes perch fillets from Raron, veal cordon bleu with Valais ham and cheese, and lamb entrecôte with an herb crust. Balbina's minestrone keeps an earlier generation present in the kitchen. The restaurant has expanded over time to include a conservatory, the Mischabel Lounge, a terrace and the Cantina Carmen wine cellar for tastings and private occasions. Table reservations are available. Access by car follows the road through Törbel; winter visitors coming from Bürchen can use the Alpenschnaager transport.
