Restaurant Seegarten

Restaurant Seegarten stands beside the Rantzauer See in Barmstedt, with a bright conservatory and a spacious terrace overlooking the water. It belongs to the hotel of the same name, but its restaurant, café offer and bar give it several different roles around the lake. A meal can center on Italian dishes, while coffee and a changing selection of cakes provide a lighter reason to stop. The menu ranges from bruschetta, minestrone and antipasti to pasta and pizza. Spaghetti with anchovies, capers and olives appears alongside gnocchi in gorgonzola sauce and penne with vegetables. Pizza choices include a simple margherita, a vegetable version and combinations with seafood or cured ham. This breadth makes the restaurant useful for a table whose members want different kinds of dishes. Coffee is accompanied by a cake and torte buffet, with tea available as an alternative. The drinks selection also includes wine, beer and cocktails, and the hotel bar offers another setting for meeting friends or family. A separate lunch offer adds variety alongside the main menu. Guests can reserve a table by telephone, and the restaurant offers its food for collection after a phone order. Celebrations are another part of the business, supported by menu and buffet arrangements. The combination of conservatory seating and the lakeside terrace makes the setting a defining part of Seegarten, whether the visit is built around a full meal or a quieter coffee break.
