Le Bard'Ô

Le Bard'Ô overlooks Portissol beach from the edge of the bay in Sanary-sur-Mer. Its terrace faces the Mediterranean, while an indoor dining room provides another setting for a meal by the water. Andrew and his team combine restaurant dining with a bar and a program of live performances and visiting DJs. The atmosphere can therefore move from a relaxed seaside meal toward a more festive gathering. The menu travels between Mediterranean ingredients and flavors from farther afield. Sea bream carpaccio is paired with green apple, ginger and citrus, while tuna tataki comes with aromatic rice and an Asian salad. There are also clam linguine, mushroom risotto and truffle ravioli. Meat dishes include beef with herb butter, lamb shank with mashed potato and a veal chop with mushroom sauce. For sharing, guests can choose small dishes or boards of cured meats and cheeses. Desserts range from chocolate mousse to an exotic tiramisu involving lemon, coconut and passion fruit, with ice cream sundaes providing another finish. A separate children's menu is available. The terrace is also used for private gatherings, and the restaurant can prepare customized menus for birthdays, weddings, baptisms or business events. With space both inside and outdoors, it accommodates occasions larger than an ordinary table booking. The defining combination is the broad menu, sea-facing position and music program, bringing several kinds of outing together at the same beachside address.
